An introduction

This site is dedicated to the art of Thea Gerard (1938-1987). She was an artist of Indonesian descent and married to artist Piet van den Heuvel (1935-2004).

She mostly painted childhood memories, family, friends and familiar places. Next to painting she also worked with wooden dolls and made amazing sculptures.

With this site we hope to make a complete as possible overview of her life and art.
